Skiing 2008

With a few keen skiers among our ranks, we can officially report that the 2007/8 season has been decidedly mixed. Jim’s trip to Morzine was blessed with a mix of fresh snow and sunshine (the smug look said it all), whereas Shona’s trip to Italy proved disastrous. Not only was the resort plagued with avalanches, at the top of a run she had already skied successfully, our very own Shona broke her KNEE(!!). We all wish Shona a very speedy recovery – the office just isn’t the same without her effervescence!!

  1. Sorry to hear about Shona. Send her my wishes. Hope things are going well back at base.

Just in case you are all wondering how I’m doing, well, I’m doing fine! We have been to Santiago, trekked Torres Del Paine and are now in Ushuaia in Argentina – the end of the world. Having an amazing time, seeing iceburgs, snow-capped mountains, glaciers; sat in a hot tub outside with snow-capped mountains in the backdrop; plus we’ve seen sealions, penguins and emperor cormorants. The food is great, as is the weather, although where we are now it’s freezing. However, on Wednesday we fly to the Atacama Desert where things will definitely heat up.

    See you all soon, Paul.
