Job Title: Graphic / Multimedia Designer
Part of: Design Team
Reporting to: Creative Director
Salary: Negotiable
(standard holiday entitlement, plus bank holidays)
Start date: Jan 2012
Duration: 3 month contract
Primary purpose:
You will play a key design role in a broad range of projects for DNA’s clients in the luxury goods, marine, FMCG, manufacturing and technology industries. You must be an innovative, creative and accomplished graphic designer, with a strong background in design for print and design for multi-media and web. You will be a wizard with the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign in particular) and have a good understanding of Adobe Flash and After Effects. Reporting to the Creative Director and working closely with the client services department, you must be capable of working both alone and as part of a team and will be relied upon to ensure the quality and timely delivery of projects assigned to you.
Essential experience:
You must be a creative, personable and professional individual with experience in working directly with clients to deliver creative design projects. Essential skills and experience includes:
- A degree in Graphic Design or similar
- At least 3 years experience within an agency environment
- Ability to think conceptually
- Web design experience
- Strong in Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe PhotoShop, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Flash and Adobe Dreamweaver
- Multimedia / Motion Graphics / Animation experience
- Experience in all aspects of graphic design including strong typographic and layout skills
- An excellent understanding of branding and corporate identity
- Extensive knowledge of the print process
- An excellent eye for detail
- Strong people skills
- Have excellent organisational skills
- Be reliable, professional and confident dealing with clients in person and by phone
- Be capable of working to tight deadlines
- Be capable of managing a number of different projects simultaneously
- Be presentable and personable.
Key responsibilities:
- Support the design team with design tasks and projects
- Ensure that all design work is of a sufficient technical and creative standard
- Ensure your work is delivered within the agreed timescales and client expectations
- Work as part of the creative team to generate innovative ideas and concepts
- Assist in project planning and scheduling
- Understand and implement project briefs
- Ensure any issues are communicated to both the Creative Director
and Client Services team.
Additional skills that would be an advantage:
- An understanding of web usability, accessibility and browser incompatibilities
- Experience in XHTML and CSS
- Experience in using JavaScript and Adobe Flash/Actionscript
- An understanding of data driven websites and E-commerce systems
- Design for Mobile devices
- Illustration skills.
